After graduating from Western Michigan Jim took a teaching job in South Haven Michigan. From there he moved to Westchester Il to teach at Morton Grove HS. Shortly there after he accepted a position at Glenbard West where he remained until he retired in 1993.




Your Dad was a great coach who really inspired our track team to be the best we could be. He worked us hard in practice but it really paid off in our meets. The 1978 track team had a very good season and being able to compete in the state finals of the mile relay is a highlight I always remember. RIP Coach Arnold". - Craig Gill

Many people were unaware that Jim was a customs agent at O'Hare during the summers in the early to mid 80's. He always had some great stories to share from that job.
